It's always fun when you can dress up and have a nice evening out with your hubby! We left the kids with our godddaughter, yes, we actually drove away from the house ALONE in the car! Almost a first, if you don't count Grandma, which really doesn't count, cuz she's GRANDMA!
A project I've worked one came to fruition this past Tuesday (4/24) evening. It was a beautiful partnership between the adoption agency board that I reside on and the local crisis pregnancy center's annual fundraising gala. As table hosts, we arrived early to partake in a reception honoring the guest speaker, Robert Amaya (aka Javier from the movie Courageous). We fellowshipped and networked with some special people. After the reception, we had the opportunity to host 2 tables that represented the adoption agency that featured the staff, the board and families who have a connection/heart to adoption.
Robert Amaya did an amazing job of stressing the importance of a father in a child's life, as well as in the home as a husband. Not only was his presentation enlightening, but also the testimonies of those who took the platform to share their thoughts, feelings & experience(s) towards abortion and their heart for women who are in a crisis pregnancy were very touching and meaningful. (pic of me, Robert Amaya and my dear fellow board member, SF, who is (yes) 4 yrs YOUNGER than me)
If if you are ever in a situation where you know of a mother who is experiencing a crisis pregnancy, and unsure of her choices, unsure how to parent, or just scared... Care Net is a safe environment to help a mom understand her parenting choices!
