What a great place to visit, Durango Riverside Resort, located along the Animas River! It was quite obvious that everyone was ready for some R and R! We had a chance to fly fish Haviland Lake! What a fun ordeal just getting to the lake...walking through swampy areas and getting full of mud! But what great views we all experienced! And, Daddy caught 2 fish! yeah! Plus, I got to spend 3.5 hours talking with my "Bestie!"

We made sure to make room for geocaching!!! Unfortunately, we only found 3, BUT our "X" find was a true hit and a great opportunity for many who had never really hiked where "real" rock climbers go. Again, we experience great views of the valley and my boy found the cache...yeah!

A few Geocaching pics:

There was plenty of room for swimming and ice-cream at Riverside, as well as a group dinner for all 6 families that joined the weekend get-a-way. Rumor has it that the cookies-n-cream at the Ice Cream Shop was the best, but I vote for auntie D's homemade chocolate that I could NOT get enough of! It was unanimous that our stuffed sopapilla dinner was a hit! Entertainment around the fire was provided by cousin YCA! We even witnessed Iron Horse events, in our camp area and in Durango...wow! And, my baby girl had her very FIRST Dilly Bar at DQ!

Who's behind the PINK dilly bar?
Watch the footage on YouTube...AFTER DQ visit...see what ya think...think they "love ice-cream?" (they didn't know I was video'g them!)
Swimming in the HEATED pool!
Saturday Night Stuffed Sopapilla Dinner!

Last but not least...we opted for an old-fashioned picnic on our route home, in a teepee! Well, a picture of the teepee was all we got...winds and cold forced us to picnic in Uncle's trailer, in the parking lot of a casino! But, we did put a blanket on the floor and boy those were the best sandwiches...my little boy even thanked Jesus tonight for the best picnic we had today! So, there you have it!
What a blessing the weekend was...we each had our own special moment to be thankful for...mine was waking up to strong coffee EVERY morning and the 2 little people below, of course!
