4th of July

We had an intimate day celebrating! The day kicked off with us trying to reach our 1-0-0 mark for Geocaching - we missed it by 2! It wasn't our lucky day to discover certain "finds" - they were toughies!

Our little party consisted of the 4 of us! Our sweet girl wanted to know if we could put on music and dance! Daddy made the best grilled burgers, I made a fresh pasta salad, and my boy had salty/sour pickles w/his meal! I made a shirley temple for my baby girl and my sweet boy had plain sprite! Dinner was yummy and vanilla ice-creams cones for dessert were even yummier!

Since our state has fire restrictions, we opted against any major fireworks. However, I did get a "Tub o' Fun" from Sam's that consisted of old-fashion fireworks, the kind we had as kids...like "SNAKES!" Oh, common, you remember those and how much fun they were as kids...the smell...touching them... Well, my kids discovered them for the 1st time and loved them! We even saved 3 pellets to light later! We had those bouncey bugs that dance on the concrete! And, we had plenty of "Pop-Its!" No sparklers, but we had a few very tiny fountains...the actual firework was the size of a Hershey kiss (and it was pink, so we had happy little girl!).

Entertainment:

And...Ice-Cream!

Tub-O-Fun!

No, that is not HAIL, it's remnants from Pop-Its, that the kids get to pick up next day!

Burger time:

His face says it all...only boys would giggle and think the snakes look like "Poop!"

Night was great, we even played a new outdoor Bocce (sp?) game our 10-yr just got for his b-day.

...we ended with coloring and sweet dreams and the blooms of yellow "Four-O-Clocks!"

P.S. One last thing (my boy reminded me to put on blog)...he lit his very 1st match, w/the guidance of Daddy, of course...and actually lit a snake with a real match! He was brave and very proud of himself. Yeah!
