It's always the best to celebrate Family Day - this was our 9 year anniversary of becoming a Forever Family. Our sweet boy asked for one special dinner! A dinner of homemade Ukrainian Borscht! What a fun cooking project! Grandma came to help since the rest of my immediate family wimped out on the "helping part!"
It wasn't a full success, but it passed. It was agreed that it was 100% better on day 2! ...forgot to take a picture with the dollop of sour cream, which makes it the true dish and gives it a beautiful color!
Thanks to our new, dear friends who helped guide mama through the recipe and cooking! My goal is to make it truly authentic next go 'round!
(beets, onion, potato, garlic, dill, bay leaf, pork, sour cream, black pepper corn & salt...all mouth-watering ingredients)
