Southern NM Get-a-Way

Visiting my nephew was the best, BUT it was also the perfect excuse to get a hotel for a couple of nights, shop, eat at fun restaurants, swim, play at White Sands, visit my niece in Alamagordo, stop at the Big Apple, drive to Cloudcroft and window shop, and drive thru and dine in Ruidoso!

Any excuse for the 4 of us to escape together!  It's always a blessing to load up the vehicle and spend more quality time together.  Will we ever get enough of our time together? Probably NOT.  Daddy is such a great trip planner and really knows how to pamper and show the 3 of us a grand time.

When we're together the simplest joys become reality.  Simple joys like seeing your kids get so excited to pack their luggage, load on to the rack at the hotel (and ride on it), jumping on hotel beds (shhh), swimming almost 10 hrs, and eating breakfast in bed!

Gotta love his facial expression!  Don't worry, they kicked him out!
Mama had him all to herself!

Shopping anyone?  At the mall?

Anybody ready for a swim?

Oh Yeah, breakfast in bed...thanks Dad for going downstairs
and getting us ALL set up!

Woo Hoo, We were ABLE to visit LT! I love this baby girl!
And just yesterday (well, 22 yrs ago, that is) I held her brand new!
Kids love her like a big sister!

Love these smiles! Both are so darn squeezable!

Trip ended with a pleasurable drive through Ruidoso, NM.  Unfortunately, we witnessed our first sighting of burn scar from fire several years ago and it broke our hearts.  Trips like this really make you appreciate the beautify in your own backyard.  New Mexico truly is the land of enchantment.  Way to end the trip with a scrumptious dinner at Farley's, in Ruidoso!
