"The Hello, Goodbye Window"

Our baby girl had a reading debut today at 2:45pm sharp. Daddy, Poppy and I were the guests. With a full week practice and valuable critique from her brother and cousins, she successsfully read a Caldecott Gold Medal winner book, "The Hello, Goodbye Window" by Norton Juster.

Overview
The kitchen window at Nanna and Poppy’s house is, for one little girl, a magic gateway. Everything important happens near it, through it, or beyond it. Told in her voice, her story is both a voyage of discovery and a celebration of the commonplace wonders that define childhood. It is also a love song devoted to that special relationship between grandparents and grandchild.

The world for this little girl will soon grow larger and more complex but never more enchanting or deeply felt.

I captured her reading and posted on YouTube. You can find the reading broken into 4 segments, just click each YouTube link below to enjoy!

She told her Poppy, "Poppy, did you know that the word Poppy was in The Hello, Goodbye Window?" and then hugged him - it was sweet.

Daddy and I were so happy seeing you do such an amazing job! We're very proud of you baby girl. We LOVE you!
