..even tho' I had a terrible cold on my birthday and felt a bit yucky, I was blessed.
Daddy/Kids hand-picked some very special gifts - the measuring cups were prob. the most appreciated, as they know how much mamma bakes! Oh, and I can't wait to read Hunger Games. The boxed card set is so up my alley and Ghirardelli Intense Dark Chocolate bar will not be shared (sorry). After I told them how much mamma needed underwear my sweet boy quickly said, "mom those aren't underwears, they're panties!" The flowers were given as my LAST gift of the night and I cried...i thought they forgot my flowers!
I had an special day trip to the Camino Real museum (daddy packed us lunch) and a lovely dinner at Socorro Springs. I had the most amazing pesto penne pasta with artichokes and a "wonderful" spinich salad, topped with almonds, roasted red peppers, romas, feta cheese, and a chile vinegarette...oh my!
We still had one cupcake leftover from Maria that helped make my candle complete. Then, Auntie made me a pistachio dessert and grandma made me her delicious cranberry/oat bars...I had my share of birthday dessert no doubt!
My boy beat me and blew out the candle (check out his little lips)!
The day before, Auntie, Grandma/Poppy, B and HHH treated me to early gifts! My nightgown was a true hit with me! I can't wait to try my new salad spinner and sample ALL of the Cost Plus & Trader Joe goodies from Auntie. I already dove into my DOVE dark chocolates! And my new coin purse is so darn cute! When can I go use my Starbucks card?
I always enjoy the ritual of receiving (old fashion) mailed birthday cards - thanks B, Sandra, Ruby, Fran & Theresa.
As always my sister/brother/mom/dad/nephews do the early AM "singing thing." None of them should try out for American Idol...oh and Uncle Tim/girls, you aren't going to Hollywood either! But, what a treat...you can never get enough of those memories since each voice is unique - my nepews win the award for "Most Enthused."
I got text messages from my goddaughter/Cus/HHH & Bern - thanks guys!
I couldn't help but post pics from the Camino Real museum....it's a must, I'll be encouraging everyone to go!
The views from the observation deck were breath-taking - I couldn't capture enough photos!
Would love to go in the spring to really enjoy the garden (there are rattlesnake warnings!).
The sunset was perfect on our drive home - it always reminds me of Uncle Phil. And, timing couldn't have been better - perfect excuse to take Aunt Judy up on her text offer to wrap up my birthday day at her place!
Those of you who know me, know I hate when the evening of my birthday rolls around, because I never want my birthday to end! But, boy, what a special birthday it was, thanks to my great family and dear friends.
