New Mexico's Ring of Fire!

(NM photo copied from KRQE.COM, photo gallery)

For our family it was a mad dash to get to a spot to view NM's Ring of Fire! We finished dress rehearsal for the kids' play just minutes before the "fire" started!

My 1st glimpse was taken as we left church, through the entry glass, where you could start to see a portion of the moon moving in...but you had to be in just the right spot to see the reflection.

As we approached our car in the parking lot we held the camera out and shot this picture - boy was it BRIGHT!

Thank God Daddy was prepared. He took 2 sheets of paper and after FINALLY finding a pen, we poked a hole and began to see the action of the moon movin' in! Check out our sweet boy...we warned them to NOT look at the sun, so he was covering the side of his face to make sure he wouldn't look!

Daddy found a creative way for us to look to the East...we looked from the passenger side of our vehicle through the driver's side (both windows are dark tinted) and used Daddy's polarized sunglasses...it was a "Wow Moment!" Really cool and really awesome.
As we drove home, the sunset was really bright and spectacular - we caught this as we drove on the freeway!
