3rd Annual Tamale Making

December 22nd, the date set for making New Mexican traditional tamales. I think it's funny to hear the feedback year after year from the family group who assembles...they always comment that, "these came out better than last year!" The truth is is that they are just as good as the year before...a fresh, warm tamale is always the best!

This year our goal was to leave with 6 dozen for each family! That meant 25 pounds of meat, a couple gallons of red chile, lots of corn husks, strong hands, endurance, and laughing!

Our official "taster" gave us a "THUMBS UP!" (we even had a new little taster this year, she didn't give a "thumbs up," she just gobbled it up, alongside Auntie.

...and the cousins had plenty of Wii time, running around the house, and even made glitter oatmeal food for Santa's reindeers!

Mark your calendars for next December 22nd!
